JS&P – Margaret W. Martin Award

About Margaret W. Martin

Margaret W. Martin was a bold woman in her day…maintaining her full time job, teaching piano, while raising a family of 6 children (4 girls, 2 boys) all while traveling the globe from the States to Saudi Arabia, across Europe and Vientiane Laos during the height of the Vietnam war. She founded the American International School – Riyadh (K-12) in Saudi Arabia in 1963, and it has grown to a mighty institution since then.

Margaret W. Martin Award

Since its inception, the Joining Sword & Pen competition (JS&P) has been sponsored by Fight Master David Woolley, SAFD, who created the Margaret W. Martin Award on behalf of his mother, and awards the JS&P winners a $1,000 stipend for their creative efforts.
