Rochelle Robinson-Dukes

Dr. Rochelle Robinson-Dukes is an Associate Professor of English at Olive-Harvey College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago. She has taught all levels of English and Literature during the last 21 years at the City Colleges. In 2011-2012, Dr. Robinson-Dukes was named the Distinguished Professor for Olive-Harvey College. During her career, her work has been published in a number of journals including the African-American Review and In Other Words.

She is the founder and editor of Brownstone Barrio Bards, a collection of works from South Side Chicago poets. She has also received the Chester Sipple Poetry Award from the American Association of Poets. She was a participant in Harvard University’s Women in Leadership Program in 2014.

Finally, Dr. Robinson-Dukes is Vice President of the City Colleges Division for Cook County Teachers Union, Local 1600. In that capacity, she co-negotiated the collective bargaining agreement for close to 600 security officers who work at all seven of the City Colleges of Chicago from 2013-2015.
