Upcoming Auditions:
BWB is casting 4 women + 2 men for a fall 2010 world premiere of The Last Daughter of Oedipus by Jennifer L. Mickelson, directed by Tara Branham, fights by Libby Beyreis, movement by Mercedes Rohlfs.
ALL CHARACTERS WILL FIGHT. STAGE COMBAT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED - broadsword, sword & shield, and/or quarterstaff experience preferred.
Creon/Pelops - Male, any ethnicity, must read as older than 30
Creon is the King of Athens
Pelops is a father seeking to punish wrongs against his son
Zeva - Female, any ethnicity, must read as older than 30
Woman of Thebes, companion to Ismene
A protective, motherly sort
Young Guard - Male, any ethnicity, should read as 30 or younger
Theban soldier, not yet jaded, wishes he could do more
The Women of Athens:
Amaranta - Female, any ethnicity, should read as 30-50.
Mother-in-law to Cassia, wife and mother to soldiers.
A calm force to be reckoned with.
Alcina - Female, any ethnicity, should read as 25-45.
Sister-in-law to Amaranta, widow to a soldier.
Probably talks more than she should, and is usually sarcastic about it.
Cassia - Female, any ethnicity, should read as 16-25. Daughter-in-law to Amaranta, new wife to a soldier (Amaranta's son).
A quiet and courageous young woman.
Auditions:
March 5, 5pm-10pm at the Stage Left Theatre offices (3408 N. Sheffield, Chicago). Please submit H/R to amyeharmon@gmail.com for a slot.
Callbacks:
March 6, 10am-5pm at the TUTA rehearsal space (2032 W. Fulton, Chicago). Callbacks will consist of fight & movement work as well as scenework.
