MEET THE BABES

Leigh Barrett (Member Emeritus, Artistic Director 2011-2015) has been in Chicago stage managing and designing lights since her graduation from Bradley University in 1989. She is also a member emeritus of Stage Left Theatre (joined 1990), and member of the late Plasticene Theatre Company, both of which whetted her appetite for generating new works as a stage manager, lighting designer, and producer. A proud member of Actors Equity Association, she currently stage manages out at Oak Park Festival Theatre, where she is an Artistic Associate. She joined BWBTC in 2007 after designing lights for The Girl in the Iron Mask and was hooked by the mission and the the opportunity to keep working with the powerful and talented womxn of the company. Her directing work with BWBTC includes The Double, Bo Thomas and the Case of the Sky Pirates, Patchwork Drifter, and The Invisible Scarlet O’Neil.
